Would you buy awesome handmade Christmas cards off eBay? How much would you pay? Would you buy awesome handmade Christmas cards off of craigslist.com or eBay.com? If you would...how much would you expect or want to pay for them? How many would you think you would want? Like...how many cards would you think a set of handmade Christmas cards would have? What would you like to see on you Christmas cards? Would you prefer them to be more traditional with reds and greens etc. Or would like "artsy" type ones with all colors (not just the basic Christmas colors). Would you like to see "elegant" type ones with silver and gold and maybe light blues? Im thinking about making some and trying to sell them.... (Looking for ideas and whatnot)

I'm delivering them to strangers in the neighborhood and I'd like to leave everyone with a verse that may shape their lives in some way. Thanks for your help! Please type out the verse for me.

Gave my teacher a card but...? I gave my favourite teacher a (handmade) christmas card. Well actually I left it on his desk yesterday when he wasn't there and he saw it this morning when he came to work (I checked his desk and he had put it up). However, I saw him today in passing but he didn't say anything about it although he said merry christmas to me and my friend when we left the teacher's lounge. All I wrote in the card was that I had really enjoyed his English lessons this past term, I thanked him for making them fun and interesting and I wished him a merry christmas. He usually never talks to me anyways except for my school work (which he always praises) but I guess I expected a thank you at the very least. Why would he not say anything? I can't understand it. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt, perhaps he forgot about the card for the 2 seconds we saw each other? He seems to like me in the classroom because I always complete my homework, I'm always in class and he says the nicest things about my work, it's just outside the classroom where things are weird. Should I ask him about it next term (after christmas break)? Like say;"Did you like the card?". Ps. The card was beautiful with a short and sweet message so it's not like he couldn't have liked it
Where has the Christmas magic gone? I was wondering what this Christmas season has been like for you? I do not have kids so it is much different. I was so angry last year when a woman in my building pretty much told me I couldn't enjoy Christmas because I didn't have kids. I was like A) Not your business and B) I can enjoy itt just as well. Christmas has really changed for me. I do not know where the magic has gone. I was more excited about it when I worked retail then I do working in an office. I think I see how other people behave and it depresses me. For instance, I'm actually afraid to go shopping on Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving). People in my area have been physically injured! Last year a woman stepped infront of another as the store opened its doors, the owman she stepped infront of poured hot coffee down her back! She ended up with 2nd and 3rd degree burns! People, this is not the Christmasy way! I remember the special times like decorating the tree and baking cookies, sending out cards and of course shopping and receiving gifts. I remember them more that whan I actually got. Christmas dinner my family would laugh the meal away. Church was an extended family. The beliefs I can take or leave but there were really good people that went to my step fathers church. I'm trying so hard to get that feeling back. I give more to charities than people. I have downscaled everything I buy and give. my office is giving to a needy family instead of to each other (I have bought gifts for certain people and I always attach a small ornament to my Christmas cards). People really need to step back and think about what it means to them. It is not about the $300 toys. I prefer handmade gifts and smalled meaningful gifts than an xbox. Let me know what you think!
Why Is Dhaka Bangladesh Post Office Not Delivering My Mail From USA..? I am very upset with the Bangladesh Post Office..When I send my fiance a letter sometimes he gets it and sometimes he doesn't..I sent him a beautiful handmade Christmas card and he has not received it yet and i sent it well before Christmas...I put twice the amount of postage required and he still doesn't get it...What are they doing to my letter and why are they stealing it or throwing it in the trash can...Are they crazy? This makes me very upset..They did this last Fall with my pictures I sent him...I sent him nice pictures i made especially for him and he never got them...the address and postage are correct and verified so why they want to be soo hateful to me...Is it cause I am from USA? I think they hate USA and throw our letters in garbage can..Oh my! I am so upset..!
What handmade present can I make for my catholic sister? I have a very low budget this year, and am looking for handmade present ideas. My sister is Catholic and really enjoys things that have to do with that. She already has a lot of rosaries and last year for Christmas I made her a prayer card with the name of a saint who shares her name (she really liked it). Are there any other presents that I can make? I l can draw/etc. so that is not an issue. Thank you!
Do people get to old for pop up cards? I make my own handmade cards, and i'm starting with my christmas lot. I found the perfect 3D embellishment for the MIL's card. It's a cat with a christmas hat and comes with a few extras like a small tree, set of presents and a stocking. So my thought was to make a fireplace scene, have the cat sitting by the fire with the tree and presents to add the christmasiness to it. But i want to make it look completely 3D like your looking at a photo and see at the dimension, so i though pop up was perfect to do that but not sure whether a 66 year old goes for pop up anymore lol What do you think?
Could this be a small success? Hi, I make handmade cards as a hobby (birthday, christmas cards etc) and I'm thinking of going that next level and selling them on ebay :-) Is this a good idea or a waste of time? They do look as good as the handmade ones you get in shops....
How much would it cost in postage to send these things to Japan? One of my best friends, Vera, moved to Japan for college. I'm sending her a care package for Christmas, and I want it to be a surprise, so I can't ask her how much it'll cost to send it. I'm sending her: A teddy bear A container of homemade cookies Two handmade cards, and A pair of earrings How much do you that'd cost? Whoops! Forgot! I'm sending it from NYC.
Gift Ideas for Christmas? Hi, I don't have enough money to get all of my friends Christmas presents this year, so I thought I would get gift bags, and make them really cool handmade cards. But what should I put in the gift bags? Oh, and if you have any other ideas for cheap gift ideas, or handmade gift ideas, please tell me! After buying presents for my family, I have like 25 dollars left. So it's gotta be cheap, but not stupid. Thanks!
What should I get my best friends for Christmas? I have three best girl friends, and they are all freshmen in high school. (I'm in 8th grade.) I bought four boxes of candy canes, along with wintery-themed ribbon to tie around them, to hand out to all of my friends, but I want to give my best friends something better. I was planning to get each of them an individual gift, but I think that would cost too much for me. I think making cute little goodie bags would do the trick. I want to make each bag worth around $5-$10. What can I put inside them? This is what I think is appropriate: -Lots of candy! -Pencils, stickers, etc. from the Hello Kitty store -A cheap/handmade Christmas ornament -Lotion from Bath & Body Works -$5 gift cards to Target or Jamba Juice This is what I DO NOT want to put in them: -Jewelry -Makeup Thanks! :) My best guy friend, also a freshman, just recently moved to the East Coast a couple weeks ago. I want to send him a nice, thoughtful card and a small present. What can I send him that would not cost a lot to send in air mail? I think he would like anything, just for the thoughtfulness.
What are some Christmas present ideas? My sister in law never gets us anything for birthday or Christmas or anything. Not like we are mad about it. But what can I get her for Christmas, and her birthday without going out of the way? I was thinking of a really nice expensive card or handmade one. (?) Do you think she would get mad because I am buying her daughter a few things for christmas? Okay she is 16 and has a kid. What is something we could get her? By the way she has lots of high priced name brand clothes, shoes, pants, cds, dvds, and lots of stuff already
Christmas gifts for friends? Okay, the Christmas party for my school is on December 16 which is next next week and I really need to start planning on my gifts. I'm only giving around 5 friends and they're all girls since I won't really waste my time on buying gifts for my guy friends but I don't know what to give them. Nothing cheesy or girly-ish or expensive. Oh and don't say jewelry, perfumes and stuff. My friends don't like those. And I don't want to burn a CD or make handmade cards or buy food for them. I just want something out-of-the-box since I can't handle making handmade gifts. Don't tell me clothes either 'cause my mom's gonna freak. Anyway, do you guys have any idea/suggestions? Any thought would help me so much :)
i need handmade gift idea's for this christmas? This christmas, i don't have as much money as i did last year so i am trying to figure out some christmas idea's for my close family. I am very crafty so i thought i might go to my local hobby lobby and pick up some supplies to make some nice gifts. One family member loves to cook so i thought about doing a decorate recipe card box and filling it full of recipes...but i need some more idea's...help!!
Christmas Candy/Cookie Tins? Somehow I ended up being miss Christmas over the years so now I have to get presents $30+ for everyone (1 dad, 3 moms, 4 brothers, 3 sisters and a bf), make handmade cards (17 people) AND make a cookie/candy tin (5 bigger tins for families and 4 kids theyre just getting the caramel corn). This year I was thinking of just doing caramel popcorn with peanuts, sugar coated guava or fig jam stuffed cookies and almond cookies. I'm just really sick of the holidays before they even start. Does that sound like a good enough assortment?
What should I write in this card? So I made my boyfriend (teenage) a tie blanket for christmas. But to add a little something, I decided to make him a card. Its a handmade card, and the front says Merry Christmas. But I dont know what to write inside it. I dont want it to be mushy or anything, but i dont know what to write. Any ideas?
christmas present?? ok so ive been dating this boy for a few months(we're in highschool) and i dont know what to get him for christmas. i was thinking maybe a sweatshirt with his favorite football team on it(he basicaly only wears sweatshirts and loves football) candy and a handmade card plus we get to spend the whole day christmas together... have any suggestions of anything else i should get him?
Trouble with handmade greeting card - warping? I made some cute cards for thank-yous, for Christmas gifts, and all I had was some of that kid's glue that's purple and then changes to clear. I used it to attach various cuts of paper, a cute little vintage mini-card, buttons etc.. The cards' appearances came out great but the card stock warped a bit, making the cards look kind of amaturish. I used card stock made for cards, from the craft store so I'm thinking it was the glue? HELP! What better glue to use??? I want to make more cards this year, for Valentine's, birthdays and a congratulations/engagement card for my brother in law. What about those adhesive "roller" things, that work like "White Out" rollers, only it's a thin film of adhesive? Anybody use that?
I need help for a christmas presnt idea for tomorrow!!!!!? me and my girlsfriend decided not to get eachother gifts(that was her call) today she gave me $20 gift card to starbucks and a handmade card. handmade book, handmade card, build a bear, and gift certifcate... good xmas gifts or no? i have asked previous questions about a girl i like before, and this time its an xmas question. im getting her a build a bear-penguin (cuz she loves penguins), dressed in an airforce uniform cuz shes going into the airforce after we graduate this year, and a voice recording of me saying " you are the most beautiful girl ive ever met, you mean everything to me, and merry christmas" then im making her a card. making her a book, and it has me asking her to formal at the end of the book, and i also got her a gift certificate to olive garden cuz she loves that place. now... are these good gifts? she used to like me.... then we went on a date and said she couldnt picture us as being more than just friends.... she said she wants to be friends just for now. is there a way her mind can change? im not trying to change her mind by 'buying' or 'making' her stuff... this is who i am. but yea are the gifts good? is there a chance her mind will change?
Does anyone hate Christmas because of all the expectations? It seems like everyone wants something and if you don't do it for EVERYONE then someone feels out. I just hate the holidays now, but don't want to. It seems like society just drives and drives it. I feel like I'm EXPECTED to do all of this now. Work - donation to charity, ornament exchange, potluck and white elephant exchange, sweets for my co-workers Presents - $30+ each worth of stuff (thank god for sales) for 11 people Cards - handmade for 17 people I work full time, but I'm also still in college desperately trying to finish my last classes (like 10 left). I honestly don't have the time or money to be doing these kinds of things, but I feel like I'll be giving people the cold shoulder if I don't. Does anyone else feel this way?
A good name for a small business? My friend and I are going to start a small business. We are going to be selling handmade christmas crafts (Stockings, Ornaments), handmade jewelry (Earrings and lanyards) and some things we have made on a sewing machine (scarfs, nursing uniforms, pj pants) and other odd and ends. We have no idea what to call our business and we need to get some signs and cards made
Christmas gifts at the office don't match up... what to do? I work for a small home based business where it's typically just me and my boss (the business owner) in the office. I have been here for 3 years. In the past I have given her Christmas gifts such as handmade earrings I purchased from a local silversmith, gift cards of sizable amounts, and other gifts of considerable effort/cost. She has given me such things as a tin of hot cocoa or a pair of socks. Considering the length of time I have worked here and the closeness of our work and personal relationship, is she just being thoughtless, or am I to take the hint that the scale of my gifts is too great? I had planned to give her a nice pashmina shawl and a necklace I made this year, but now I'm not sure it will be appreciated. She has also never offered me a holiday bonus. It's not really the cost that matters to me, it's the fact that I put thought and effort into choosing something nice and personal that she would like, and it seems like she just picked something up at the drugstore. Exactly, it's the THOUGHT.... I put a lot of effort into choosing my gifts and her gifts seemed thoughtless to me.
Can anyone translate a verse from English to German? I make handmade cards and have been asked to make a special xmas card for somebody's mother. The difficult task is I've been asked to put a German Verse in the card. I've got the verse in English, Can anybody give me the German translation for the following. I'd be so grateful. You’ve always been a mother To cherish and to praise So, may your Christmas bring you, A year of perfect days. Merry Christmas Mum with love from
ok folks a few xmas ones are these funny or not? 1) Santa's Outfit How do you know Santa has to be a man? No woman is going to wear the same outfit year after year. 2) Semi-Annual after-Christmas Sale. 3) I kept Billie home because she had to go Christmas shopping because I don't know what size she wear. 4) Christmas tag-sale. Handmade gifts for that hard-to-find person. 5) Christmas Pudding Charms Sterling silver Christmas charms to bring you good fortune. Potential choking hazard: do not use with food. 6) Curious Question Why does rain drop, but snow fall? 7) Christmas Joke Pizza Good King Wenceslas phoned for a pizza. The salesgirl asked him, 'Do you want your usual? Deep pan, crisp and even?' 8) Denominations Maria went to the Post Office to buy stamps for her Christmas cards.' What denomination?' asked the clerk. 'Oh! Good heavens! Have we come to this?' said Maria, 'Well give me 50 Methodist and 50 Church of England ones please.' 9) Christmas Shepherd One Christmas, Joe and Peter built a skating rink in the middle of a field. A shepherd leading his flock decided to take a shortcut across the rink. The sheep, however, were afraid of the ice and wouldn't cross it. Desperate, the shepherd began tugging them to the other side. 'Look at that, 'remarked Peter to Joe, 'That guy is trying to pull the wool over our ice!'

How would I handle this matter? I am a nursing student, but at the present, I am still working in Corrections. One of my duties as a correctional officer is to log inmate mail. The policy is, no contraband, counterfeit or anything that is illegal is to be sent out. This morning, I was approached by two of my co-workers who stated that they overheard a conversation about me. They informed me that two others employees, a Captain and the Maintenance Officer was looking over the mail which I had logged, and the Captain stated that I had logged in a Christmas card and an envelope that was handmade, and that I should not have sent it out. He went on to say that I should have known better. There is nothing stated in the policy that says that an inmate cannot make his own Christmas card, nor an envelope, matter of fact, nearly everything that the inmates use is homemade. The two officers that informed me are reliable sources, and I believe them. I also know the Captain is a blabber mouth, because he talks about others employees. This same trainer, who just taught our Class last week, taught about Micro management, things that cause friction, following the chain of command, confronting a co-worker if felt that he/she has done something wrong. I also feel that they should have followed the chain of command by contacting my immediate Supervisor). If it was against policies, why did they allow it to remain in the mail? I have never heard nor been approached by any of my superiors of doing anything wrong. This Captain (instructor) has had problems in the pass for discussing other employees. I plan to address this issue by taking it through the chain of command, but first, how would you handle it, and what would you say. Please excuse my typo's__just gotton off work, sleepy and tired. I mean, how would you handle this situation. No,No, carship, I am not like the captain, I am addressing my question to the group only.I know better than to mention the officer's that informed me. I also know that they had their own personal reasons for telling me. The reason I mentioned the Captain and Maintenance man's name was only to let the yahoo group know a little about their character. My aim is not to personally attack anyone. What ever I do, I always try not to degrade anyone. Perhaps, I detailed my question a little too much. Still fighting the sleep, (graveyard shift) and trying to stay awake to get my responses.

Is This A Good Christmas Present For My Boyfriend ? ( GUYS PLEASE )? My boyfriend is a softie, but only around me (: I was thinking of getting him a scarf w. our initials sewed into a heart from build-a-bear & w. that heart, I will sew it on the end of the scarf. At first I thought it was a bit homo but what do you think of that guys ? OR I will get a keychain heart and engrave our initials on it. I will add a little handmade card filled w. "goodtimes together" & make many boxes from descending sizes so he will open a big box until it gets to the smallest and last box haha. Any suggestions on what to get for my boyfriend ? I want it to be thoughtful so do not suggest games or basketball. [;
Is this a good idea for a christmas gift for my boyfriend? I want to use the whole 5 senses idea because we always joke around about him mixing his up (i.e. i can hear it with my own eyes! This smells bad here taste it...etc) and I thought I would help him keep them straight. We have been going out for a month and will be at almost 2 months on Christmas. Sight: either a gift card to the movies or a picture in a frame on us depending on if I can get one Hearing: an Itunes gift card Taste: his favorite candy Smell: scented markers or something funny, I don't really want to get cologne due to the fact that we have not been going out for that long and that is sort of serious plus I'm not sure what kinds he likes. and lastly, Touch: A handmade giftcard for a free kiss (I will give this to him last) does this sound entirely lame or do you think it would be a good idea? any opinions (good or bad) are appreciated thanks in advance!! :)
Why do I feel so bad about the Christmas gift I got from my co-worker? I have been at my present job for two and a half years. I sit at a desk in a room alone with my co-worker all day, so we talk a lot. He's not really my supervisor, but his position is slightly higher than mine. Last year we exchanged gifts which were gift cards, and it turned out they were pretty much equal in value-$25. This year I did the same thing, a gift card to a store he likes and a handmade print. He gave me some freebie calendar he got. We also do this thing where we go out for lunch or order take out for our birthdays. This year he chose an expensive place, which I paid for. This was just last week. I have no problem with spending the money, and I like to do it at the holidays, but it bugs me he is sooo cheap. He makes 25% more than I do and I know he and his wife are not hurting for money as she makes a big salary and they have little debt. I guess it's an appreciation thing. I work my butt off, making our dept. and him look good. If I left, he would be in trouble, since I do twice the work load. It's not that he didn't spend a lot, it's also the effort. He does photography and carpentry work, so he could have made something, which I would have liked, or put some effort into it. I don't need expensive gifts, but it makes me feel unappreciated and slighted. Has anyone else had this experience and what did you do about it? If I'm still at this job next year, what should I do?

An Interesting/Unique Christmas Gift for Girlfriend? Well I'm stumped. I'm having trouble thinking of a gift for my girlfriend. (I have searched google/previous questions) Any ideas? We're both college students and we've been dating for 3 months. Here's some info as it relates to my question that might help with ideas. Personality: Unconditionally Happy Optimistic Outgoing Strong Character Adventurous Activities: Running Hiking Outdoors Long boarding Mountain Biking Colors: Sky Blue Dark green Earthy tones Likes: Penguins Certain Sentimental Items (letters, hand made items, etc.) Useful Items Dislikes: Movies Jewelry Expensive cloths (fashion isn't very important to her) Vanity Items (see above) She would really enjoy something handmade. (Also, I'm fairly skilled at making things more complex than cards/decorations) Any help would be greatly appreciated :) Thanks in advance! I've decided to make a hammock chair/stand
Is this a deal breaker? My parents think my fiance doesn't show respect for me or my feelings. Well, that he doesn't treat me right. Part of that is he didn't get me a Christmas gift or a Valentine's gift yesterday. They say when you're engaged, you don't skip things like that. Especially since it really bummed me out. I had no idea how upset I'd feel, I cried a lot. I told him a card would be nice or flowers, so I spelled it out for him days in advance. It kind of seems like this wouldn't be a dealbreaker...but I let Christmas pass, and then it happened again on Vday. He doesn't show that he appreciates me. My parents think this is def. a deal breaker. Get in my business, tell me what you think, please. For Vday, I got him things all week. I cooked Steak and potatoes, bought him some wool socks, a handmade card and snickers (his fav). Answer to Sparkley: Yes, thanks. It is especially hurtful, because I was upset at Christmas. I talked to him them, and said it really hurt my feeling that I didn't even get a card. He's says he wants to be married to me, but sometimes I wonder. His mom handed down a diamond, and I found out and pressured him...he says he wouldn't let anyone pressure him to make such a big decision, but I don't know. P.S. I make a big deal of holidays; I talk about them weeks in advance.
I feel bad.....(dang 20 characters)? ok well for christmas i got my friend this jonas brothers sweatshirt and a tote (she LOVES them) and she got me this really cute little hand made gift-bag.. it had like two lotions....my absolute FAVORITE candy...and salt n' vinegar chips...lol long story short...we both obsess over them...its kinda like a signature...haha don't ask...and it also had a handmade card with pics of my favorite band (Tokio Hotel) anyway i thought it was an amazing gift....and i almost started crying (in fact im about to cry just talking about it) cause of how much she knows about me....and idk it really meant a lot to me....well im not exactly sure....but after i gave her the present...when i got home she IMed me and said she loved the present...and that she "forgot" another part.....cause she said she lost it....im not sure if this is entirely true....since her gift was hand made and i bought mine....i think she maybe felt a little bad and decided to get me another gift...i really don't want her to do that...and i feel really bad....her gift was amazing and i actually think a handmade gift was better....and i know its not about the gift...its about the thought...i know she put a lot of thought into that and i dont need anything else....gahh im about to cry what should i do?
Fiance is Vday party pooper? Sooo...I love Vday!! Flowers, chocolates, everything. My fiance got me stuff a couple years, when we first started dating (he had help from friends). He didn't get me a Christmas gift and he said he doesn't have a Valentine's Day gift, either. (and no, there is no surprise, hes SO not like that) For Christmas, he said it just came too fast. He made up later with an iPod. But it's more the thought that counts- a handmade card on the day would be nicer. Anyhow...I guess he just doesn't buy things? He doesn't put a lot of value on "things". But he knows they mean a lot to me. We took a quiz in our marriage prep class about how we show love and how we like it: I'm a gift person..I give lots and I love to receive, too. He knows I'm a "gift person" (big or small). I know he's not, but that's why I don't go buy him stuff like I want to, I make it special. Anyhow..how do I get used to this? I'm marrying him, so it's not likely to change :) Answering your question: im not putting the value of gifts over love. But no gift on Christmas or Vday? :(
give my 19 year old girlfriend an amazing valentines.? Ok so me and my girlfriend are celebrating our one year anniversary and valentines together. i have exams around valentines day and the week after and our one year is february 20th so we decided to do them both together on the weekend of the 20th. first off i just want to say that every single present she has ever got me has beaten what i got her. every birthday, christmas so far she has been sooo amazing and done reallly creative things..im not just talking about money spent, but she always takes so much time to make unbelievable handmade cards, popup cards, coupon books, and she always writes incredibly sweet messages so I really want to give her an amazing night in return for all these things. I have an apartment at my university (not with her though) and my roomate will be gone for spring break. i wanted to bring her there and cook her dinner (nothing special, just pasta i was thinking since im not really much of a cook lol) and ive never really cooked for her before and have a nice candlelit dinner. after that i wanted to do presents, one which i was thinking would be a bracelet as kind of a 1 year present, as well as lingerie as a valentines present. before hand (earlier that day) i want to set up nice smelling rose petals in my room all over my bed and have candles all around it. so after the presents i would go into my bedroom, close the door, and ask her to change into her lingerie i got her and then come in when i say its okay. I'd light all the candles and things and put on some soft music and then call her in. and she'd come in wearing her new lingerie, the lights will be dimmed, soft music playing, candles around the room, rose petals all over the floor and bed and i'll be lying on the bed in new boxer briefs with a rose in my mouth. (she's said to me lots of times before how much she likes boxer briefs and how good she thinks they would look on me but i have never worn them before. i also know that she thinks the rose in the mouth thing is really adorable and thats why i was thinking of it). im basically thinking of that right now...one thing i have never been able to do is give her an orgasm without her "helping" with a hand if you know what i mean so i would LOVE to be able to do that on that night..any tips on that? any oils or gels that mighthelp? or give her a massage first?
