Handmade cards?
I have started making my own greetings cards and am pleased with the results. The only problem i have is wording on the front of the card. I have tried a couple of things but it just looks naff!! Anyone else use anything that gives a proffesional finish?

- Go to Hobbycraft where you can buy packs of stickers that say 'Happy Birthday' 'Happy Anniversary' etc. They're great and give them a really professional look. Oh and use a pair of tweezers to position them coz once they're stuck, so are you! Enjoy :)
- you can buy peel off stickers in a variety of colours...either greetings, single letters/numbers, designs in craft shops/stationers etc or check out e-bay under cardmaking & look for peel-offs. ...or you can trace them onto good quality tracing paper using coloured pens
- You can always stamp it and then if you get embossing powder and a heat tool it will look fab you stamp it with a happy birthday stamp and then you sprinkle on and off the embossing powder and then heat- it looks really professional when its done!! :)
- You can get peel-offs in silver/gold etc that come in a wide range of words 'Happy Birthday' etc, there are alphabet stickers (PM Brand do a lot of these and are cheap). Rub-ons are widely available in a range of fonts etc (these are the ones you apply with a 'lolly stick'!) Try printing directly off your computer onto card or acetate (vellum tends to bleed) ... the possibilities doing this are endless.
- My Daughter does decoupage cards, she gets a lot of stuff from a firm called craft creations. They have a mag about card making, have a look at their site www.craftcreations.co.uk/pages/magazines/download__ Hope this helps.
- Just leave them blank! The Christmas ones will be obvious, and the others can be multi-purpose.
- Hi, I see from all the answers that people are recomending peel off's well Yes i agree with this youcanmake it a bit more proffessional looking if you mount the peeloff onto card and layer it on to another card- this makes it look abit more professional. good lucka nd welcome to a hobby that is adictive. maker of cards for many, many years.
