Restaurant gift card for teacher - how much $ should it be?

Planning to give my 2 kids' teachers (1st, 4th grade) restaurant gift cards for the holidays. Wondering what the gift card amount should be or cover. I am thinking like $25. Should the amount be enough for 1 person to dine? But, I was thinking the teacher will most likely go with someone, so she will have to effectively spend $ to use my giftcard. An average lunch or dinner for 2 at this restaurant (like Olive Garden) costs about $40-$60 when I go. The teachers are OK, do their job, but not so great. The gift card will be accompanied by a beautiful art project and handmade note by my kid(s). I have already considered options like Starbucks or a mall gift card. Have decided on a restaurant gift card, looking for opinion on what the amount should be or cover? Thanks!

1. I don't really do teacher gifts. I think the hand made art work or note for the teacher is plenty. When my kids (15,11 and 6) have a teacher they absolutely love, or someone who goes the extra mile, I might purchase something at the end of the year ( I have done it, and went with a $25 american express gift card). For the holidays, sometimes I send in baked goods (cookies) if my kids absolutely want to give something. I think that if you are buying a gift card, any amount is fine. You don't have to cover the entire cost of the meal.
2. a restaurant card would be very nice. make it enough for dinner for 2. don't forget about the drinks and dessert. teachers are so undervalued these days. i know that both of the teachers will greatly appreciate the gesture.
3. $25 should be enough. and Starbucks is always appreciated... most EVERYONE drinks coffee :) Good luck!
4. I would do the $25 each. It's a gift for them, not for two people and it's up to them whether or not they bring someone. This is a gesture of appreciation, not a way for you to go broke.
5. 25 dollars is more than enough. We do 10 dollars to Starbucks plus a small gift like a candle, lotion, etc
